Activities Department

The goal of the Activities Department is to provide and maintain a high quality of life for our children.  The activity program is designed to allow the children to lead as normal a life as possible while living in a hospital.  Some of the children are admitted for short periods of time, while other children stay until they are 21 years of age.  All activities are designed and adapted to meet the patient’s developmental, physical, and mental abilities.

A typical day for a child who attends school consists of getting up, having breakfast, then going offsite to school.  After school, the children engage in activities that meet their developmental level and interests.  The activities department also helps children with their homework and school projects.
The Rehabilitation Therapy, Activities, and Respiratory departments work diligently to coordinate outings to allow children to participate and engage in the community.
